Purpose-built for transit with capacity for 15 passengers.
Rather than adapting an existing vehicle program, the HOLON urban was developed specifically around the requirements of public transit. It accommodates 15 passengers, with a cabin laid out for real boarding. The vehicle is designed to be ADA-accessible, including automatic wheelchair harnessing that secures a passenger without manual assistance.
The HOLON urban is currently in public road testing in Hamburg as part of the ALIKE project. It operates within a defined service area with a safety operator on board, with passenger operations planned for 2027.
As part of the BENTELER Mobility solution, HOLON can be integrated with the operational, financial and passenger-facing tools required to deploy an autonomous service. With ioki, this extends to service planning, dispatch and a white-labelled intermodal rider app, while the BENTELER Mobility Financing solution can support the commercial structure behind the deployment. For transit agencies, this creates a more direct route from vehicle acquisition to service - with the vehicle, operations, financing and passenger experience coordinated across one wider mobility solution.
